Bristol-Myers Squibb & Volunteer West Island Celebrate Summer By Helping Community Groups!

As summer rolls around, non-profit community groups look forward to the annual visit of volunteers from Bristol-Myers Squibb, celebrating their annual Community Partnership Day in collaboration with Volunteer West Island’s Corporate Volunteer Program.  As fall makes its appearance, BMS employees and the BMS Community Action Committee are already planning next year’s event!

Non-profit community organizations happy to welcome back the BMS employees this year included: Héritage Laurentien’s Parc des Rapides; Animatch; Le Nichoir; Moisson Montréal; Welcome Hall Mission; Omega Community Resources; Société Canadienne du Cancer; the Salvation Army Booth Centre; Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre; Montreal Oral School for the Deaf; WIAIH’s Angelman Centre, Pat Roberts Centre, and Valois Residence.  People, birds, animals, and the environment were all beneficiaries of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s concern for the community!

Coordinated at the company level by Aimie El-Barnachawy, employee-volunteers engaged in a variety of activities such as cleaning, painting, cooking, gardening, trimming hedges, removing invasive plants and replacing them with indigenous species, repairing fences, tidying aviaries, decorating, refurbishing equipment, sorting donations of non-perishables and produce, packing and distributing food baskets – and once again making a positive difference in their community!
