FedEx Volunteers Lend a Hand at On Rock Community Services

On Rock Community Services will be receiving a special delivery from FedEx on a regular basis: rotating teams of enthusiastic FedEx volunteers are providing much appreciated assistance at On Rock’s twice-weekly Diner.

“Each of us at our department – we are a staff of six – will try to help out at On-Rock at least once a month going forward, stated Adam Paterno who is coordinating this volunteer outreach in collaboration with Volunteer West Island’s Corporate Volunteer Program.

Kim Reid, President and Founder of on Rock Community Services, explained that the Community Diner is one of programs On Rock offers. The Diner is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00pm and provides a low cost meal to all who come, combining a healthy mid-week supper with the opportunity to socialize.

Steven Malboeuf, Volunteer Coordinator at the Diner, was happy to answer questions and provide helpful details. He warmly welcomed members of the FedEx team, integrating them seamlessly into the workings of the popular program.

In the words of the FedEx volunteers, it was “an amazing time, and it was a privilege to be able to give back to the great people in our city, and participate with like minded individuals who shared a common goal of providing assistance and time to those in need. This is definitely a place we would love to go back to!”
