The 50th Anniversary Celebration held on April 24th, 2017 at the Sarto Desnoyers Community Center in Dorval was a huge success. Anne Pertus, President of the Board of Directors of VWI opened the the 50th Anniversary Celebration by recognizing the efforts of the many volunteers and the organizations which are served by VWI.
With over 300 attendees, the volunteers were well appreciated by the guest speakers, M. Fimba Tankoano, Directeur général Fédération des centres d’action bénévole du Québec; Alison Stevens, Volunteer Centre Consultant, Volunteer Canada; Frank Baylis, Member of Parliament for Pierrefonds-Dollard who read a message from the Prime Minister of Canada.
Also present was Martin Coiteux, Member for Nelligan, Quebec Liberal Party,Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Security, Minister responsible for the Montréal region.
