L’Oréal Employees and Volunteer West Island Team Up Again to Celebrate L’Oréal Citizen Day – Making a Difference for Others!

L’Oréal Canada employee-volunteers participated in their recent 7th annual L’Oréal Citizen Day, held in Montreal and Toronto, dedicating one day to helping local community organizations. More than 300 L’Oréal Canada employees took part in concrete actions such as collecting and sorting food and clothing, gardening, cleaning and beautifying green spaces throughout the day.

“The collective Citizen Day effort has been gathering momentum over the last seven years with a growing participation rate. Companies have a mission to create social and societal value,” said Frank Kollmar, President & CEO of L’Oréal Canada. “At L’Oréal, we are fully convinced that we have an important role to play as a corporate citizen.”

The event was organized in Montreal by Teresa Menna, Corporate Citizenship & Internal Communications Manager at L’Oréal Canada’s Montreal location, working in collaboration with Volunteer West Island’s Corporate Volunteer Program. Teams of enthusiastic L’Oréal volunteers lent a hand at Welcome Hall Mission, Centre Multi-ressources de Lachine, and Montreal Oral School, helping out these three non-profit organizations that provide such crucial services to their clients.

“To me, participating in L’Oréal’s Citizen Day is very important. We go about our busy lives too often overlooking the fact that there are so many people in need of love and caring, food and shelter, every day necessities. It’s important to allocate some time for this. Other than helping people in need, it also makes us appreciate what we are so fortunate to have. A day of reflection keeps things in perspective”, stated Sandra Lacouvée, who participated in L’Oréal Citizen Day 2016. A happy day with a lot accomplished!
