Shire Volunteers Turn Out to Help their Community!

In celebration of their annual Community Day Shire employShire 3ees, in collaboration with Volunteer West Island, recently gave of their time, talents, and tremendous enthusiasm, lending a hand in non-profit community organizations Welcome Hall Mission and Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre.  Susan McKinnon-Bell from Tyndale and Tania Togias from Welcome Hall Mission worked with Shire’s Pina Mulé and VWI’s Corporate Volunteer Recruitment Program Coordinator to make this event the success it was.  The magic ingredients were, of course, the volunteers themselves!

Brigitte Viel, Community Relations Lead, Shire, Canada, thanked the Shire volunteers , as well as the staff at both locations for the warm welcome they gave Shire volunteers.Shire 4

“They made us feel right at home while introducing us to their fantastic work.  On behalf of the entire Shire team, thank you for a memorable experience and for your contribution in enabling Montrealers to live better lives.”

“Our Shire team had a wonderful experience volunteering,” stated  Eric Tse, General Manager, Shire, Canada, “The fact that Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre program “graduates” often return to give back some of their time to the Centre speaks for the incredible sense of belonging and the strength of the community they managed to build over time. Thank you to Chris and the entire team for opening their doors to us and for offering us such a wonderful experience!”

The smiles say it all!
